演講摘要|Learning is a dynamic process influenced by a variety of internal and external factors. The science of learning is an approach that brings multi-disciplinary perspectives and multi-modal methods together to provide further insights into the mechanism of learning with an ultimate goal to optimize learning. Adopting a neurocognitive approach, my research combines behavioral measures and neuroimaging techniques (e.g., functional magnetic resonance imaging, functional near-infrared spectroscopy) to investigate the neurocognitive mechanisms of language, reading, and learning. In this talk, I will present some of my work in cognitive neuroscience to provide a basic understanding of the neural networks for language and reading. Following that, I will share my current work using the science of learning approach to studying language and reading. These studies illustrate how neuroimaging techniques can be used to
examine reading networks for bilinguals and to assess language abilities. Their implications for learning and education will be discussed.
